Colombia Decaf
A fantastic decaf with notes of toffee, apple and spices. Without a doubt the best decaffeinated coffee you have ever tasted.
In the famous region of Huila in southwest Colombia, about 50 small-scale farmers form the La Serrania group. They grow the varieties Caturra and Colombia in the mountains around the city of Pitalito. Each farmer processes the coffee individually, and then the caffeine is reduced when the coffee from all the farmers is collected. The caffeine is gently removed by steaming the coffee beans and then submerging them in a liquid of water and ethyl acetate, which binds to the caffeine. The ethyl acetate comes from fermented sugarcane and is also a naturally occurring substance in various fruits. After the coffee is taken out of the liquid, it is steamed again and dried before shipping.
