A new year is here – and you can feel it in our coffee world. Trips are booked, harvests are on the move, and coffees we’ve been looking forward to are on their way to the roastery. Here’s a quick look at what’s happening right now, and what will soon end up in your cup.
Our green coffee buyer Jonas is currently on his way to Honduras, where he’ll be visiting several of our producers. One of the stops is Comicovel, a cooperative we’ve been buying coffee from since 2022 and which plays an important role in both Perduras and Dark Knight – two coffees that work in the same way. They are always single origin and rotate every six months between Peru and Honduras, ensuring they are always in season and tasting their best.
The journey continues to Yeltsin Sagastume, a producer we’ve followed for a long time and who is currently featured in our Farmers Series. Finally getting to work with Yeltsin feels like a big moment for us. His coffee has a natural precision – clean flavours, clear balance, and a calm presence that comes through straight away in the cup. It’s a coffee that reflects both the place and the person behind it, and shows what happens when craftsmanship is allowed to lead the way. If you’d like to taste it, you’ll find it here.
Jonas will also be visiting Benjamin Paz in Santa Bárbara. Benjamin is both a producer and the driving force behind San Vicente, the family’s processing station and export operation. His coffee was most recently part of our Christmas coffee, and his work has been crucial in putting Santa Bárbara on the map as one of Honduras’ most exciting coffee regions. Here, it’s all about altitude, mist, patience – and an uncompromising approach to quality.
At the same time, a little closer to home, this year’s coffee from Burundi has now arrived in Hamburg. There’s still a short journey left before it reaches the roastery, but the delivery went exceptionally well this year – easily among the smoothest we’ve had. The coffee comes from our friends at Long Miles Coffee Project, where we’ve purchased both a Washed and a Honey processed lot this year. Long Miles is more than coffee to us. It’s about people, relationships, and taking responsibility all the way from plant to cup. This is more than just coffee – and you can feel it. Read more about Long Miles and our relationship here.
The coffee will arrive at the roastery shortly, with the plan to have it ready in time for Nordic Coffee Fest at the end of February. We’ll be sharing a stand with Hario once again – and yes, they’ll have several fun new things on site to experiment with properly.
In short: new harvests, strong partnerships, and really good coffee on the way.
